Welded steel bars and ropes, 2024
Exhibited at Vent Space Gallery
A playground is never just for children. It is where a body first learns to test its limits, how far it can swing before falling, how long it can hide before being found.
This swing returns to that. Its metal frame holds a body that is bound, tethered, caught mid-motion. Restrained, and still swinging. There is something tender in that persistence. Even held in place, the body keeps moving, keeps reaching for a rhythm of its own.
Perhaps this is what desire looks like from the outside: not free, not escaped, but still in motion. A body that refuses to go still, even chained to the very structure that contains it.
